Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Degree Course in Sculpture

Eligibility for admission to MFA course is that the candidate should have passed the B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Degree Examination with specialization in Sculpture after having attended a regular course of study at a recognized institution.

Duration of the course will be 2 years, each academic year consisting of 2 semesters. Each semester will have 90 working days, including the days of the examinations.

Optional specializations are (1) Portrait Sculpture and (2) Creative Sculpture.

Theory subjects (i) Modern Indian Art, (ii) Modern Western Art, (iii) Western Aesthetics and (iv) Indian Aesthetics are also important part of the course. 

The course will be supported by inter-disciplinary discourses, seminars, assignments and activities for developing individual creative expression.

Each candidate shall be required to take up a project work leading to a proper Dissertation in the final semester under the guidance of a faculty.

Internal Assessment of works will be conducted in every semester. There will be examinations at the end of each semester. Examinations are conducted by the University of Kerala. Candidates will have to get registered for each semester examination.

Minimum attendance of 75% is required to appear for the examinations during each semester.

Degree Show: Each candidate has to display a selection of their works produced during the course of study for the assessment by the Board of Examiners.

MFA Degree is awarded by the University of Kerala.

 

Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Degree Course in Painting

 

Eligibility for admission to MFA course is that the candidate should have passed the B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Degree Examination with specialization in Painting after having attended a regular course of study at a recognized institution.

Duration of the course will be 2 years, each academic year consisting of 2 semesters. Each semester will have 90 working days, including the days of the examinations.

The main specialization is Creative Painting.

Theory subjects (i) Modern Indian Art, (ii) Modern Western Art, (iii) Western Aesthetics and (iv) Indian Aesthetics are also important part of the course. 

The course will be supported by inter-disciplinary discourses, seminars, assignments and activities for developing individual creative expression.
